Spread Academy – our immersive residential training initiative, run in partnership with the renowned US-based Billions Institute, which equips teams and leaders in health and care with the skills they need to unleash large-scale change.
Institute for Social Prescribing – aims to accelerate innovation in the field of social prescribing in our region and beyond. We will be supporting our four testbed sites in the South West to lead and test innovation in social prescribing, providing grassroots insights.
Innovation and Technology Payment (ITP) – aims to remove financial and procurement barriers to support the NHS to adopt innovative medical devices, diagnostics, and digital products.
Atrial Fibrillation (AF) – Identifying and managing patients with atrial fibrillation to reduce the number of AF-related strokes.
Emergency Laparotomy Collaborative (ELC) – A quality improvement approach within NHS trusts to improve the standard of care for patients undergoing emergency laparotomy surgery.
PINCER (pharmacist-led information technology intervention for medication errors) – Software solutions to help GP practices highlight patients at risk of medicine prescribing errors.
PReCePT (PReventing Cerebral palsy in Pre-Term labour) – Administering magnesium sulphate to mothers during preterm labour to reduce the risk of cerebral palsy in new-born babies.
ESCAPE-pain – A 12-session exercise-based rehabilitation programme that improves patients’ ability to cope with chronic joint pain from osteoarthritis of the knee and/or hip.
Serenity Integrated Mentoring (SIM) – Training in behaviour risk-management and basic clinical theory for police officers, to improve the treatment of people with high-intensity mental health needs and better support their families.
Transfer of Care Around Medicines (TCAM) – The referral of patients to community pharmacies when they are discharged from hospital to proactively monitor their medication and reduce readmissions.
Polypharmacy – Supporting partners in the South West to increase the availability of medication reviews to check that people who are taking multiple medicines have the most appropriate prescription.
WireSafe – An innovation used during central venous catheter insertion procedures to prevent guidewires from being forgotten in patients, which may cause them harm.
Faecal Calprotectin – A pathway to help GPs make the difficult distinction between irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) to reduce unnecessary secondary care referrals.
i-THRIVE – A model of care which provides a person-centred approach to delivering mental health services for children, young people and their families to achieve better outcomes.
