Our Spread Academy equips teams and leaders in health and care with the skills they need to unleash large-scale change.
The Spread Academy is an immersive residential training initiative designed by the South West Academic Health Science Network (SW AHSN) in collaboration with the renowned US-based Billions Institute.
Our multi-day academy is designed to equip leaders in health and care with the skills and insight they need to unleash large-scale change. Through storytelling and collaborative group work, delegates learn techniques for spreading and scaling change and begin the personal transformation they need to see it through, leaving with a viable plan of next steps to measure along their journey. The academy is based on the Billions Institute’s Model for Unleashing, a framework for creating conditions that enable change to become contagious.
Our first Spread Academy, held in March 2019, saw over 80 health and care professionals come together to learn the skills and gain the confidence they need to make change on a large scale. We will be hosting our second Spread Academy on personalised care in autumn 2019.
Join our second Spread Academy on personalised care!
Together with the Billions Institute and NHS England & Improvement, we are offering teams of 3 to 6 people working in health and care across the South West the opportunity to join our second Spread Academy on personalised care, to be held at Dartington Hall in Totnes, Devon, from 24-26 September 2019.
Led by director of the South West Integrated Personal Commissioning programme, Frances Tippett, the three-day programme will explore how to lead changes to the health and care system that empower individuals to become integrators of their own care. Successful teams will also be invited to an ‘all teach, all learn’ day on 17 October 2019 (location TBC).
How do I apply?
All teams who apply must be working to implement universal personalised care and must include someone with lived experience of health care and support, either directly or as a carer.
You may be working in local areas of different sizes, including Integrated Care System/Sustainability and Transformation Partnership footprints, Primary Care Networks, local neighbourhoods, or regional networks.
Multi-disciplinary teams are encouraged to apply, preferably from organisations representing multiple sectors such as the NHS (commissioners and providers), local authority, or the voluntary and community sector.
Please complete a single application for your team, including personal statements from each team member. Each application should have one lead applicant who will act as the single point of contact for the application process. This applicant will also need to provide the name and contact details of a senior person (at CEO or director level) from their local system who can endorse your team’s application.
To apply please click here. The deadline for applications is midnight on 30 July 2019.
For more information or if you have any questions, please contact Frances Tippett (email@example.com).
