The South West Academic Health Science Network and West of England Academic Health Science Network are hosting a joint virtual Safety Improvement Network (previously Local Learning System) event on 30 July 2020, from 10am – 12 noon.

Our Safety Improvement Network is one of the vehicles for our regional delivery of the Maternal and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme, which aims to create and embed the conditions for all staff to improve the safety and outcomes of maternal and neonatal care by reducing unwarranted variation and provide high quality healthcare experience for all women, babies and families across England.

Our network events are an opportunity to interact and discuss with colleagues working to improve maternal and neonatal care across the local maternity systems, and a forum for local improvement to thrive.

On 30 July we will be focusing on system-wide improvement we have previously agreed and smoke-free pregnancies – a key area of focus for the national safety programme. We plan to share the revised specification of the national Maternity and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme (MatNeoSIP) and collaborate on a regional approach to delivering the programme.

Our network events welcome representation from across the maternity and neonatal workforce, in particular doctors, midwives, nurses, support workers, health visitors, public health leads and commissioners, as well as women and their families.

As this is a virtual event, there is no limitation on the number of participants, so we would welcome engagement from those who have had limited exposure to the Maternal and Neonatal Quality Improvement programme that pre-dated the current Maternal and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme.

This event is open to practitioners from across the West and South West of England, including services in Bristol, Weston-Super-Mare, Swindon, Gloucestershire, Stroud, Cheltenham, Bath and Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall & the isles of Scilly

Register here.

A Microsoft Teams invite will be sent to you 24hrs prior to the event.

We hope you can join us.
