Our team help take innovative products, services and technologies into the health and care system.

With funding from the government’s Office for Life Sciences (OLS), all AHSNs are operating Innovation Exchanges. These build on AHSNs’ unique cross-sector connections, which enable us to identify common challenges and quickly bring people and organisations together to develop, test and spread solutions.

We help NHS organisations build partnerships with businesses, charities and social enterprises to test, develop and adopt innovation into their organisations.

We help businesses speed up the adoption of innovative products, services and technologies.

We help charities and social enterprises speed up the adoption of innovative services.

We focus on supporting innovation across four key priority areas informed by national policy, the priorities of our network members and the needs of the population in the South West.

Our team work with the wider AHSN Network to support innovation across the Innovation Pathway.

What is innovation?

We define innovation as a service or product, new to the NHS or applied in a way that is new to the NHS, which significantly improves the quality of health and care.
